20th Birthday was a Splashing Success!
On Saturday, Oct. 10, eight friends got together to celebrate their friends aquatic themed 20th birthday. Kiara Gushesh threw her 20th birthday party in her home garage, with her father to host. All of the guests (Nathan, Kelci, Caitlin, Jose, kalia, Kailey, Serinity, and Grace) arrived by 7:30 pm. Each wall was covered in cool, colorful decorations that invited a welcoming tone for the celebration.
Kiara kickstarted her celebration with games and rich, tasty food. Uno and pictionary were her and her friends staple pieces. They played five rounds of uno, and three rounds of pictionary before taking pictures. Each game was invigorating in different ways. One game took an hour for someone to win, and others took five minutes. Each game had a different rule change to make the games more interesting each time. She filled ice coolers with Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Fanta, and various other drink options to enjoy throughout the night.

Kiara says she didnt expect for this day to come so soon, “It doesn’t feel like I’m 20… I’ve been called ‘unc” like twenty times since I woke up this morning.”
Her most anticipated part of her birthday party was the cake. It was a chocolate cake with green butter cream frosting. Candles that represented the number twenty sat on top of the cake while kiara lit them. She cut into the cake to reveal a surprise strawberry filling. The cake was fluffy, but regarded as “a little dry” by Nathan and Kelci. Regardless, the cake was enjoyed and many people went back for second slices.
Kiara was shocked when cut into the cake, “… Is that strawberry?… all I know is its supposed to be chocolate”
Everyone decided to go outside to play more games, as it would allow for more space when doing pictionary rounds. What they didnt expect was the additional rain that would fall on their head while playing. That didnt bother them; however, They continued playing games in the rain until each person eventually went home. Kiara had an eventful birthday party surrounded by friends and the love they gave out. She is excited to see what her 21st birthday party will look like.
