The first time I remember learning how to properly write was in a writing club I was in when I was in the fourth grade, and it shaped how I materialize my thoughts. It was a small club with around three to four people, including myself, and it was run by an English teacher who taught eighth graders. In the club, the only thing we had to do was make creative stories. Once we finished, the teacher would help us find our writing mistakes, show us our weaknesses, and also help us learn proper grammar and writing techniques.
Reflecting on these old experiences is making me optimistic for the future of my “writing career”. Those experiences showed me that there is no limit to one's creativity and that it is a limit that one sets on themselves. It inspires me to read more books in my lifetime, and that there is joy in every story; whether it be a short story, fantasy, or novel, there is always something to take away from a story. These things motivate me to continue to strengthen my writing skills and to remember the fundamentals even when writing something small.
