Balance of School and Hobbies

Balancing school and hobbies is a nightmare because managing your assignments, internships, jobs, projects, etc., can be time-consuming, and you need your hobbies to de-stress and recharge your brain so you can keep working feeling more refreshed. The problem is that both can be time-consuming when not handled right. It causes many students to feel stressed, pressured, and more.

Having time for hobbies is very important because it helps release tension, stress, and pressure on the brain by giving your brain a break from working so hard on things we all do in our lives. If we didn’t give our brains a break, it could cause a lot of problems like mentioned and including unpleasant thoughts, mental health problems, and more. Giving that breathing room for your brain can help it feel more energetic and calmer, to be able to work better.

My routine normally goes where I take 20 minutes to work, and then 20 minutes of a break. Then comes dinner, and uses my 20-minute intervals until it’s time to call it a day and rest for the rest of the day and do my things. I try my best to balance my time at work, time for homework, and time to rest and play games in my breaks. Everyone’s routines are different; however, everyone does different things and has other priorities in their lives. What matters is how you make your routine; see if it fits well with both your work requirements and your needs too.

Something that another college student would recognize is that the pattern can repeat with other fellow students’ routines and workloads. They would notice that they are basically busy for a lot of their day. As some of their classmates would comment on, they have a full-time job, and they are also doing college, and it’s hard to do a lot of things at the same time. Other students would say that they have a lot of work, yet they seem like they are handling college and their basic life needs and other priorities effectively.
