PSA: Together against Cyberbullying

I decided to pick the topic of a PSA on cyberbullying because it is important for us to learn to recognize it. These events of cyberbullying can be a scary experience encountered by someone or a group bullying on the internet or social media. Do not fret, you are not the only one who has experienced that, but other people have been cyberbullied in high school or in college, too. Also, you could not find a way to ignore, feel threatened by, or consider inappropriate or disrespectful comments. You can find resources on the website: www.crisistextline.org or text HOME to 741741.

I took short, close-up clips with my camera. I filmed in my room and my backyard to show emotional impact and points of view on the cyberbullying event. I took one class on film production and used the skills to shoot videos and set up lighting and sound, as well as storyboard planning. This voiceover is also from an interpreter at Disability Resources Services.

First Scene: A person checks their phone and gets out of bed.

Second Scene: Dark pit with silhouette of person looking out the window.

Third Scene: The phone notification pops up with negative messages from someone.

Fourth Scene: The phone’s reflection of a person looking out the window and grabbing the phone.

Fifth Scene: Person talking to someone to have a supportive conversation in American Sign Language on the phone.

Sixth Scene: Checking the phone in the backyard and putting the phone away.

Seventh Scene: Playing with the dog, and the scene turns into an intense blur with text “Crisis Text Line” with more detailed information.
