Maya El-Kher

Maya El-kher is a college student majoring in Animation and Time Based Media. With an interest in online appearances and professionalism she’s taking a journalism class to enhance her media literacy. She’s always had an invested interest in news outlets and especially its relation to her culture as a mixed African American and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. A big goal of hers in this project is to get through the semester excelling the standards she’s made for herself. Staying on top of her work and being open minded; she’s excited to learn new perspectives and challenge her own established beliefs. The media has a way of distorting the truth; especially if you’re uneducated about where these resources are coming from. All sides of a story deserve to be told. Too often the first story is the deciding factor.
