Beginning

Hello gamers! My names Jared Toland and I will be your host for this week’s gaucho podcast. Today we’re going to be talking about one of my favorite games of all time, Ghost of tsushima.. I will warn that there are spoilers if you don’t want to listen to this podcast. The production company Sucker Punch started creating the ghost of Tsushima year 2014, as the studio wanted to move on from the Infamous series to create a game with a heavy emphasis on melee combat. The studio collaborated with Japan Studio and visited Tsushima Island at least twice to ensure that the game was as real as possible. The team used various comic book series and various types of samurai movies.

                                                         Middle

The player controls the character Jin Sakai, a samurai on a journey to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Jin must choose between following the samurai code to fight with honor or using dishonorable methods of repelling the Mongols with minimal casualties and breaking the samurai code. Some of the tools you can use that are not part of the samurai code are firecrackers and wind chime bells to create distractions, smoke bombs to disorient alerted foes, kunai for striking multiple enemies, and explosives to kill groups of enemies. Later in the game you will unlock a blowgun which allows you to use darts to cause enemies to be poisoned or go berserk. There are various collectibles in the game as well hotsprings to increase your health, pillars of honor which contain additional cosmetic designs for his swords, areas in which Jin will meditate and compose haiku and gain headbands, charms in which you gain by doing side quests or going to various hidden shrines to get or upgrade your charms and finally by following foxes and praying at inari shrines you upgrade the number of charms you can hold.

                                                        Ending

For those who have finished there are two dlcs you can play. The first is the island of Ikkai where must face his past and where he lost his father. Jin comes across a community of villagers who have been driven insane by a poison described as “sacred medicine.” Jin was there as a boy and was forever haunted by this event. In this dlc he must let go of his pain in order to stop the Mongols. The second dlc is Ghost of Tsushima: Legends where you play as a different character, The characters you play are a summoner, an archer, or an assassin and finally a samurai. Each class has their own strengths and weaknesses. Consider this a brief explanation of one of my favorite games ever created. I hope you had a good time listening to my podcast and take care. I will let everyone know that there will be a second game. Afterwards there will be a bit of music that plays in the game.
