Lily is a second-year student at Glendale Community College. She is working on getting a degree in digital media. Although she is focusing on digital media, she hopes to continue her physical art such as painting and drawing. When she isn’t creating art, Lily loves playing volleyball, thrifting, and spending quality time with friends. Lily aspires to become a graphic designer or a content manager for a company. She wants to produce advertisements and compelling art pieces in the future. Lily is currently taking JRN213: Writing for Online Media, to improve her writing skills. Taking this course will also help her better understand the media and its consumers. To reach the minds and hearts of her audience, she must understand their views. This project will be her first deep look into the media industry.
Hello Lily Setka! I really like this poster design that you did. I like what you did with the typography, bold letters, and red highlights in the important part of the message. I like the way everything is laid out but I will say the amount of words on the right could maybe be more condensed and made in a larger font size so it does not get drawn out by the rest of the large words on the left. The paintbrush in the middle centered around the text is a wonderful design and It is laid out perfectly. The way that the large words sit on it makes it feel professional. The large text on the left is so easy to read and flows very nicely. But the right side feels a little hard to read. Other than that I really like this piece and it feels like it can be used in professional settings and be a great thing to include in your portfolio. The watermark in the bottom left is also always a great thing to include. This instantly told me this was YOUR work and not a placeholder for an article and really gets the point across that this is your techniques and promotion.
