With spring break this coming week and summer around the corner, it’s important vacationers are aware of the plastic waste in our ocean. The beach is a popular spot for people on breaks. It has great scenery and is a place to make many fond memories with loved ones. However, as a visitor or local, it’s important to know that the ocean holds 150 million tonnes of our plastic waste. If we continue to be careless, by the year 2025 there will be more plastic waste than fish in the ocean. While you are enjoying the relaxing weather and view of the ocean, remember those facts. Make sure to do your part and pick up after yourself. Vacationers love the beach and therefore should protect what they love. Take action and help the cause. Simply pick up and throw away trash so you can continue to enjoy the beach.
