The Glendale main library which has been open since 1987 offers a scenic xeriscape that is nearly four acres and has a diverse group of plant-life. It welcomes visitors with a strong artwork piece For Every Drop of Blood by Joe Tyler, made in bronze, copper, and steel. Another statue Irrigators by Deb Gessner sits near one of the entrances of the library which was made in tribute to the development of the community.

For Every Drop of Blood—For Every Life Devoted Veterans Memorial

The memorial offers strong appreciation for all  service men and women who defended the United States. At the center of the memorial is an obelisk created to represent the USS Arizona as well as include salvage from the battleship. Surrounding the obelisk are five trees that are made to represent the different military branches and show their strong cooperation. It is a commendable memorial that honors the contributions of those who served their country and leaves visitors with a strong and impactful tribute.



Irrigators

The statues also made in bronze metal, is made to celebrate Glendale strong origins in agriculture. It represents the importance of water and irrigation that help develop the community.

This public artwork display highlights the rich history and values of the community. The For Every Drop of Blood memorial eloquently pays tribute to the brave veterans who have defended the United States and the Irrigators statue which celebrates the agricultural roots that helped Glendale grow. Overall it all combines to create a meaningful experience for those who are visiting the Glendale library.
