Madison is a digital media arts major who aspires to be a concept artist for all kinds of media, from movies to video games. Art has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember, and the more media he consumed, the more enamored he became with the design process and how there are so many scrapped iterations of one design. Traditional and digital are what he specializes in; they are his main passions in life and are things he believes he genuinely excels at. Alongside his artistic side, Madison enjoys reading and writing, not enough to be astounding but competent enough to get by. Madison is taking journalism for his degree and for a better understanding of writing in general, not truly because he enjoys writing. Despite that, however, he's more than willing to expand his skills as a writer and as an artist in any way possible.
Hey Madison!
I love this ad. As an artist, I have always struggled to stay creative with all the mess life can throw at me. Sometimes, I feel too overwhelmed by the industry standards of creating a product solely for being sold for money rather than creative fulfillment. This results in me giving up on an art piece because I never feel connected to what I am making. Your message is clear: you should allow yourself to create whatever you want because it is your passion.
Your ad helps promote the college we attend, and its message is integral to students struggling with the industry. It provides some hope for fellow artists. I also really like the layout and the visuals. Everything about the ad is very professional and concise. I Can see this very quickly on the GCC Website and campus front page. Overall, it is a solid ad with a clear message that offers hope and reassurance to new students and struggling artists. Great work.
As someone who has always been passionate about the arts but struggled to find a clear path into the industry, seeing so many ads about this feels like a breath of fresh air. The idea of a program made specifically for creative careers is super appealing and it’s reassuring to know there are resources out there that cater to our unique needs. I personally have really benefitted from this myself, especially with very responsive advisors and great teachers in this program.
I also really enjoy the way you formatted this ad; the colorful palettes combined with the paint splatters really give the idea that this is promoting something truly creative. Your tagline is also very eye-catching. Also having the link to the website on the flyer itself is great for allowing people who are skimming to quickly gain the information needed. Programs like this can truly change lives; I know it has changed mine as it’s introduced me to a plethora of new people and shown me a career path I hadn’t even considered before that being audio engineering. I can not wait to see how it might help others like me take that next step into the creative world!
As someone who is in the art field it is always nice to be able to find ads that appeal to someone trying to find their way in the art industry. It is difficult to just find one path to stick to and with there being so many options in the graphic design field it can honestly be stressful. It is so nice to be able to see ads that promote how much there is but that you don’t need to be lost. Your ad conveys this meaning in a very power and meaningful way. Even the subtlety of using pastel colors to give a sense of peace in a decision can be so stressful. I feel that more of this type of these ads need to be made because everyone deserves to know what they want to do. Also to be able to have the resources to be able to find and contact people is such a great resource. Especially with how many more artist there are today, there are so many different careers and talking to many artists this is such a helpful resources. Overall this is a really great ad and I am very glad you made this.
Hi Madison! It’s always nice to see ads like this, especially in the art field. It can be very easy to lose that creative spark and not having the right environment can make it harder to get that spark back. Having an ad promote something like this is very important and your ad does a fantastic way of getting the message across. The way you designed your ad is very eye catching, the bright colors pop out compared to the soft background colors. The design is easy to look at and it’s easy to find the main point and the information we need is on the ad. I definitely would look for an ad like this since I’m an artist myself and it is very easy for me to lose my motivation and lose focus without the proper support or environment. Overall you ad is very well designed and the message comes across very well and will definitely benefit artists at GCC.
Hi Madison! What a great ad for GCC! I think you said a lot while using a minimal amount of words. It definitely caught my attention. If I was on the fence about going to college, seeing this ad online or on social media would have definitely caused me to click on the link and do more research on the school and their programs. It definitely is true that getting the experience needed to succeed in the industry is getting harder for artists for sure. Especially with new AI programs, things are definitely difficult. I’m very glad that Glendale Community College is helping out artists succeed in building the skills and even portfolios that they need. I think the picture you used is good and fits the ad well. The use of colors and patterns really catches the eye, as well. You worded everything well, too. I had a hard time figuring out what to advertise for my own project. I ended up choosing Adobe Photoshop, not thinking that it was off limits because of copyright. I was even given the opportunity to redo it, but I could not think of anything to advertise. But this was such a great idea, good job! 😊
